What started with a calling to ministry in the year 2000, grew over 13 years serving as pastors at Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, and has continued at Gateway Church. If you’ve known them during their journey, you know that one of the traits that the Lairds have always displayed has been faithfulness. Devoted to God, committed to friendships, and always inviting friends and strangers into their home. After serving as an executive pastor at Gateway Church for three years, the elders confirmed a call that Jason first felt in 2012: to start a life-giving church in the city of San Francisco. With excitement, Jason, Jennifer, and their sons, Liam and Nixon, are stepping out to do what God put in their hearts many years ago. Sozo Church is planned to launch Fall 2017.

explained by Romans 12:1-2 (The Message): Take your everyday, ordinary life– your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life–and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God.“
Alex Seeley is a passionate communicator and teacher of the Word. Possessing a unique ability to reveal how the Word of God is applicable to our everyday lives, Alex shares openly about how the power of God has proven real in her own life. Known for her boldness and tenacity, you’ll love the way Jesus shines through her. Born and raised in Australia, Alex served as an Executive Pastor at a church in Melbourne for nearly 20 years. Having relocated with her family to Nashville in 2012, Alex and her husband Henry, began to open their home on Tuesday nights. Their heart was for people to worship, encounter God and build genuine community in a city where people's personal and spiritual lives often succumb to the transient nature of 'life on the road'. By February 2014, their basement was filled to capacity and as a result The Belonging Co. church was born. The vision of the Belonging Co. is for people to experience Jesus in an authentic way that affects every area of their life. Encounter over entertainment, intimacy over industry and presence over presentation continues to be the mandate for the church. As Senior Pastors of the Belonging Co., Alex and Henry call Nashville home where they live with their two children, Holly and Taylor.

After a decade-long stint leading a student ministry at Baylor University in Texas, Louie Giglio and his wife Shelley moved to Atlanta in 1995 and started the Passion conferences, a national collegiate ministry that used live worship music and teaching to encourage young people to live for the glory of God. Yearly Passion events served as the movement's centerpieces: multi-day, festival-styled gatherings whose attendance grew exponentially from a couple of thousand when Passion held its first get-together in 1997 to up to 40,000 in 2000. Since the second gathering in Austin, Texas in 1998, Passion decided to document the musical portion of the annual conferences via live worship recordings -- raw, in-your-face praise songs with an alternative edge. The original worship leader at the conferences was Charlie Hall, but soon other collaborators including Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Christy Nockels, and Matt Redman joined the fold. The growing popularity of the live discs and each of these worshippers' songs led Giglio to create sixstepsrecords, an EMI-affiliated label that would serve as a creative hub for the entire Passion team. Of the whole family, Tomlin and David Crowder Band would go on to reach superstar status; the former would earn the label its first RIAA gold-certified album with 2004's Arriving. Multiple awards, nominations, and showings in the upper echelons of Billboard's Christian charts made the Passion and sixsteps brands the most popular in modern worship music, with many of their songs sung by millions in churches all across the country. ll, and others.
