Will meals be provided?

This year, we will be changing some things up for Gateway Student Conference (GWSC) and the way we are handling food and meals for Conference attendees. In years past at GWSC, we have hosted food trucks during meal times for students to purchase food who did not go off site for lunch. This year, instead, we will be having MEAL WRISTBANDS available for purchase! In previous years, students have waited up to and hour and a half to get food and were only able to eat for fifteen minutes. By providing pre-purchased meals, we will no longer have as long of a wait time as students have in the past. This will also help us to prevent overheating while waiting for food, as the Texas Summer is HOT. For a general overall better experience for GWSC attendees, we have determined Meal Wristbands to be our best option. The only option to purchase meals onsite will be through our Cafe. They will provide hot meals ranging $8-$10 per meal.

You may be asking ”What is a Meal Wristband”?  A Meal Wristband will be available for purchase online on Brushfire, the same place that you purchased your GWSC ticket. The cost of the wristband is $40 and will include Lunch and Dinner on both Thursday and Friday. Meal Wristbands will be available for purchase now until Wednesday, July 12th. Once the Meal Wristband is purchased, students will bring that ticket along with their conference ticket to Check-In on Wednesday. At Check-In, they will receive a wristband for their GWSC ticket plus an additional wristband for their Meal Wristband. Once the student has their wristband(s), they will need to wear it visibly on their wrist and have it at the time meals will be served. We will only have one meal option for each lunch/dinner. Students will walk up and show their wristbands and will have their meal given to them. This will significantly decrease wait time and allow students more time to eat and be with friends as well as cut down on the amount of heat strokes that can occur.

DFW Airport is a 15 minutes drive.
